JAZZ ADDICT AT BALLET
Ballet Train will be starting
brand new Jazz syllabus classes on Sundays - from September
“Jazzaddict” has been brought to us by Anna Currie who some of you may know as Jemima’s Mum. After watching her niece in Jazzaddict classes in New Zealand, Anna loved the
work, so much so that she decided to bring the syllabus to England.
Established in 2004 Jazzaddict has successfully grown the jazz genre in dance studios across Australasia. It is a graded and examined syllabus comprising of 15 levels
from pre-school to Teacher training. The levels consist of a series of exercises including arm combinations, classical technique, floor work, turns, isolations, leaps, amalgamations and dances. All
work is progressive and designed to develop turn out, strength, flexibility and performance style. Amalgamations include, jazz, musical theatre and lyrical. Impromptu work is included to encourage
freedom of movement in junior levels. Student choreography is incorporated at higher levels to develop student initiative and creativity.
The Syllabus does
not require any previous dance experience (although dancers love it) and is less demanding technically than ballet, so if you know any boys, girls or teenagers who want to dance but not necessarily
do ballet, this is perfect for them, so please tell them about it.
Please let us know if your child or any of their friends would like to attend Jazz Addict classes. Jazz Addict is open to non members of Ballet Train.
