MONDAY 18th to THURSDAY 21st DECEMBER 2017
Over the past few years our Winter Workshops have proved a huge success. The children love to perform in the Nutcracker as it conjures up the magic of Christmas.
The workshop is open to all children including non pupils. The course will be aimed at children of 5 to 16 years of age.
During the Four days we will be choreographing and learning our own version of the Nutcracker, which will be tailor made to fit the members of our cast, the children will also have a hand in making scenery and props. On the final day the whole cast will be performing in a half an hour version of the ballet in costume for family and friends.
Being part of our workshop will give students a better understanding of the story of the Nutcracker and how ballet portrays it. The children will have a large say in the roles and steps they wish to dance and, also the way in which they want to portray the story.
The workshop will take place at Mortimer Hall. We will start each day at 10am and finish at 2pm. On the final day, we still start at 10am and end with our performance at approximately 12.30pm
Drinks and biscuits will be provided for the children at break times but you will be asked to send your child with a packed lunch.
The performance on the 21st will take place at 12.00pm and end at approximately 12.30pm.
The cost for the 4 days will be £150 per child .
The idea is to have fun and perform, a great start to the Christmas season.
If you would like your child to take part please fill in the form on the Contact us page
